Abstract
In this study, the psychological meanings of lighthouses were explored through sandplay therapy. In dreams and sandplay, a lighthouse may seem to play a role as a guide for the journey into the inner world. A lighthouse may represent a helper, a secure place like home, a destination, accomplishment of difficult tasks, and arrival after a long arduous journey. A lighthouse in our mind guides us so that we do not repress or neglect our unconscious out of fear.
